CircuitHQ

Built by a working electrician

Snap the board.
The schedule fills itself in.

CircuitHQ is the job management app made for UK electricians and solar installers. AI board reading, BS 7671 certificates, solar PV and MCS paperwork, quotes and invoices, all on one job.

14-day free trial, no card needed to start. Compare with Tradify

  • EICR, EIC and Minor Works to BS 7671
  • Solar PV commissioning and MCS paperwork
  • Quote to certificate to invoice
  • Phone, tablet or PC browser

AI board reading

Stop typing circuit schedules by hand

The slowest part of any EICR or EIC is copying the board onto paper. CircuitHQ does the first pass for you, and you stay in control of every entry.

1

Photograph the board

Take a photo of the distribution board or consumer unit on your phone.

2

CircuitHQ reads it

It fills the empty circuit fields with the circuits, devices and ratings it can see, marked in amber for you to check.

3

Check, test, issue

Correct anything that needs it, add your test results and issue the certificate on the job.

One job, start to finish

From quote to certificate to invoice

Certificates aren't a bolt-on in CircuitHQ. They sit inside the job, next to the quote, the materials and the invoice.

  1. 1

    Quote

Price the work and track the quote.

  2. 2

    Job

Book it in, log time and supplier invoices.

  3. 3

    Test

Board photo, schedule and test results.

  4. 4

    Certify

EICR, EIC, Minor Works or PV certs.

  5. 5

    Invoice

Bill the customer from the same job.

Everything for the job, from board to invoice

Made for the work electricians and solar installers actually do.

AI board reading

Photograph the distribution board and CircuitHQ pre-fills the circuit schedule. You check it and adjust instead of typing every way from scratch.

EICR, EIC and Minor Works

PDFs on your phone in the familiar BS 7671 layout, updated for BS 7671:2018+A4:2026, with Check cert, one-tap Fill blanks and signing on screen.

Solar PV commissioning

PV test and commissioning certificates with string tests, inverter and array details, kept on the same job as the electrical certs.

MCS QMS and RECC paperwork

Keep quality management and consumer code paperwork with each solar job, so the handover pack is never scattered across folders.

DNO formsNew

Prepares your G98, G99 and G100 DNO forms from the job details. For eligible installs under 17kW per phase, you review the application and submit it to ENA Connect Direct from the app.

  • Starts a DNO application from a solar job, with the customer details filled in
  • Picks the right forms from the kit and capacity: G98 Form A or B (including Form B for each premises on multi-premises jobs), G99 fast track or full application, and the G99 post-commissioning forms
  • G100 Appendix B export limitation form, with the export limitation details
  • Uses the job, the solar project, commissioning details and your device library (make, model, kW, amps, phases)
  • Look up devices on the ENA register: searches it for inverters, batteries and other generation devices, and fills in the ENA reference, compliance status, kW, phases and G98/G99 type-test status where the field is blank, for you to check
  • Checks the details and flags anything missing
  • Submit to ENA Connect Direct from the app, after you review the application: G98 and G99 solar and battery applications where every device is on the ENA device register, and EV chargers, under 17kW per phase
  • A single line diagram drawn from the devices, with a title block and check flags
  • A site and location plan on an OpenStreetMap base, with the boundary, equipment markers, north arrow and scale
  • A slot for the cut-out photo
  • Systems of 17kW or more single phase, or 50kW or more, flagged for the DNO
  • G100 or export-limited setups, and changes to existing applications, still use the prepared forms and a draft email to the DNO, which you check and send yourself
  • A draft email to the DNO that you open in your own mail program and attach the pack to. CircuitHQ doesn't send it

Direct submission to ENA Connect Direct is live for G98 and G99 solar and battery applications where every device is on the ENA device register, and EV chargers, under 17kW per phase. You review the application and submit it from the app. G100 or export-limited setups, and changes to existing applications, still use the prepared forms and a draft email to the DNO, which you check and send yourself.

DNO application trackingNew

Track every DNO application in one place.

  • A DNO status on each job: draft, sent, more info requested, approved, rejected or withdrawn, with a dated history
  • Marking it Sent saves a locked, numbered copy of the pack
  • Its own DNO applications menu: start an application from any job, any customer, or on its own
  • One DNO applications list with a Source column, filters, overdue highlighting and CSV export

You update the status as the DNO replies. Apart from the applications you submit to ENA Connect Direct, CircuitHQ doesn't contact the DNO.

PV roof load and design tool

Work through roof layout, panel placement and roof load checks and keep the results with the job.

Quotes, jobs and invoices

Customers, quotes, jobs, invoices and timesheets live next to your certificates, so every job has its full history in one place.

Bills and purchase orders

Supplier invoice PDFs are read into bills for you to review, up to 25 files at once, so materials land against the right job. Raise purchase orders and keep a price list with markup.

Works on poor signal

Install the phone app from your browser. Jobs you've already opened open without signal, edits sync when you're back online, and PDFs are built on the phone. Some things, like attachments, AI reads, the map and the ENA lookup, need signal.

Native Android and iOS apps are coming soon.

Xero

Send invoices and bills to Xero, see payments come back, and keep contacts in sync both ways, so nothing gets typed twice.

LeadsNew

Find work in your own records: EICR renewals coming due, landlord certificates expiring, PAT retests due, unquoted EICR observations, old consumer units and solar customers without a battery.

PAT test reportsNew

Record portable appliance tests and produce PAT reports alongside your electrical certificates, linked to the same jobs and customers.

  • Appliance register with asset ID, location and class, and fast entry for lots of items
  • Results for each item with an overall pass or fail, plus failed items and the action taken
  • A retest interval for each item (12 months by default) and a next retest date, both printed on the PAT report
  • PAT retests coming due are flagged in Lead Finder, where you can make a letter or a draft email to copy into your own mail
  • AI reads your PAT tester's display from a photo and fills in the results for you to check
  • Branded PDF report, and CSV import of your PAT tester's export file (a file import, not a direct tester connection)

Leads

New

Find work hiding in your own certificates

The Leads page looks through the certificates and jobs you already have and shows you the work that's coming up, so renewals and remedial work don't slip through the cracks. It's live now in CircuitHQ, in the Leads menu for admins and anyone given permission, and you can see the screens in the free demo.

Scan my records

Finds work in the certificates and jobs you already have:

  • EICR renewals coming due, from next-inspection dates
  • Landlord certificates expiring
  • PAT retests due
  • EICR C1, C2, C3 and FI observations not yet quoted
  • Old consumer units or no RCD
  • EV charger upsells, and solar customers without a battery

Search public data

Looks for new work in public planning data:

  • Planning applications imported from your council's weekly list
  • Keyword filters such as extension, loft or new dwelling

Leads inbox

Keeps enquiries in one place:

  • An enquiry form you can put on your own website
  • Spam protection and a consent tick
  • Add leads by hand as well

Every lead tells you why

Each lead shows the reason, the due date, an estimated value worked out from your own prices, and where it came from. From there you can:

  • Create a prefilled quote, such as one line per EICR observation
  • Print a branded letter
  • Copy an email draft
  • Convert it to a customer or job
  • Mark it contacted, won or lost
  • Snooze it, or mark it Do not contact

Compliance built in

  • Public-data leads are address-only and letter-only
  • Public-data leads are deleted automatically after 90 days
  • A TPS warning before you make a call
  • A do-not-contact list
  • CircuitHQ never emails, texts or calls anyone itself. You decide who to contact.
See it in the free demo

You can see the Leads screens in the demo. Public-data search and enquiry forms are off there.

For solar installers

Solar paperwork that lives with the job

Most job apps treat solar as just another trade. CircuitHQ was built by an installer who does PV every week, so the paperwork MCS installers need is part of the workflow.

More for solar installers
  • PV test and commissioning certificates with string and inverter details
  • MCS quality management system paperwork kept per job
  • G98, G99 and G100 DNO forms prepared from the job, with eligible installs reviewed and submitted to ENA Connect Direct from the app
  • Every DNO application tracked in one place
  • A single line diagram and site plan for the DNO pack
  • A guided 13-stage MCS pipeline with QMS registers and an assessment-ready view
  • RECC consumer code paperwork in the same place
  • PV roof layout, panel placement and roof load checks
  • Electrical certificates for the same install on the same job

For homeowners

Built on the job

Made by an electrician, for electricians

CircuitHQ logo

CircuitHQ is built by Phillip Mills, who runs PPM Electrical Ltd in Spalding, Lincolnshire, a NAPIT and MCS registered electrical and solar contractor. He was fed up with certificates on one system, solar paperwork in another and invoices somewhere else. Because PPM uses CircuitHQ on its own jobs, it gets updated daily: when something slows us down on site, we fix it, and every user gets the improvement straight away.

So he built one app to do the lot. PPM uses CircuitHQ on its own domestic, commercial and solar jobs, and features get added because they save time on site, not because they look good on a list.

CircuitHQ is independent software. It is not endorsed by NAPIT, MCS, the IET or any other scheme or body.

Questions

Who is CircuitHQ for?+

UK electrical contractors and solar PV installers who want certificates, solar paperwork, quotes, jobs and invoices in one app.

How does AI board reading work?+

Take a photo of the distribution board or consumer unit and CircuitHQ reads it to pre-fill the circuit schedule. You always check and adjust the results before the certificate is issued. On the free demo, AI reads return sample results, up to 20 a day.

Which certificates can it produce?+

EICR, EIC, Minor Works, PV test report, PV commissioning sheet and PAT certificates, as PDFs in the familiar BS 7671 layout, updated for BS 7671:2018+A4:2026. They aren't official IET, NICEIC or NAPIT forms.

How is CircuitHQ different from Tradify?+

Tradify is a mature job management app for all trades, and it does offer electrical certificates on some plans. CircuitHQ is built specifically for electricians and solar installers, with AI board reading, MCS solar paperwork and a PV roof design tool built in. See our CircuitHQ vs Tradify page for a fair side-by-side.

Who makes it?+

CircuitHQ is built by Phillip Mills of PPM Electrical Ltd in Spalding, Lincolnshire. Phill is a working electrician and solar installer, and PPM uses CircuitHQ on its own jobs.

How often is CircuitHQ updated?+

Daily. We use CircuitHQ on our own jobs every day, and whenever we find something that could be quicker or easier on site, we improve it. Updates go live automatically, so there's nothing to install.

Can I move from Tradify?+

Yes. CircuitHQ can import your customers, sites, suppliers, jobs, price list, invoices and quotes from Tradify, with a preview, field mapping and no duplicates.

Is there a phone app?+

Yes. CircuitHQ works in the browser on phones and tablets today, and you can install the phone app from your browser. It works on poor signal: jobs you've already opened open without signal and edits sync when you're back online. Native Android and iOS apps are coming soon.

Do I need to install anything?+

No app store needed. CircuitHQ runs in the browser on your phone, tablet or PC, and you can install the phone app from your browser. It works on poor signal: jobs you've already opened open without signal, edits sync when you're back online, and PDFs are built on the phone. Deleting, attachments, AI reads, the map, postcode lookup and the ENA register lookup need signal.

Does CircuitHQ do DNO forms?+

Yes. CircuitHQ prepares your G98 and G99 forms, and the G100 Appendix B export limitation form, from the job details. For G98 and G99 solar and battery applications where every device is on the ENA device register, and EV chargers, under 17kW per phase, you review the application and submit it to ENA Connect Direct from the app. G100 or export-limited setups, and changes to existing applications, still use the prepared forms and a draft email to the DNO, which you check and send yourself. It picks the right forms from the kit and capacity, and flags anything missing first. The forms are laid out in the format of the ENA EREC G98 and G99 forms. CircuitHQ isn't endorsed by the ENA or any DNO, and the DNO decides whether to accept a connection. Each job also has a DNO status (draft, sent, more info requested, approved, rejected or withdrawn) with a dated history, and you update it as the DNO replies. DNO applications have their own menu, so you can start one from any job, any customer, or on its own. It's on every plan.

Does it link to Xero?+

Yes. CircuitHQ sends invoices and bills to Xero, and payment status (paid, part paid or void) comes back when you open the app or press Sync. Customer and supplier contacts sync both ways, so there's no double entry.

Can CircuitHQ help me find work?+

Yes, with Lead Finder, in the Leads menu for admins and anyone given permission. 'Scan my records' looks through your own certificates and jobs for EICR renewals coming due, landlord certificates expiring, PAT retests due, EICR observations not yet quoted, old consumer units or no RCD, and EV charger or battery upsells. 'Search public data' finds planning applications imported from your council's weekly list. You can make a letter PDF or a draft email to copy into your own mail. There's also an enquiry form you can put on your own website. CircuitHQ doesn't sell leads and never emails, texts or calls anyone itself: you decide who to contact.

How do I try it?+

Start a 14-day free trial, with 50 AI reads and no card needed to start. Or request a free demo: once your request is approved you'll get a login to a demo account filled with sample data, which resets every night.

How much does CircuitHQ cost?+

Solo is £29/month + VAT for 1 user (add up to 3 extra users at £15/month + VAT each), Team is £79/month + VAT for up to 5 users, and Business is £179/month + VAT for up to 20 users. Plans include 200, 1,000 or 3,000 AI reads a month, shared across the company, with £5 + VAT top-ups for 300 more. Launch offer: 50% off your first 3 months, on the plan price, when you join. Every plan includes every feature; plans only differ by number of users and AI reads. 1 AI read = one photo or document scanned by AI (for example a board photo, a PAT tester display photo, a panel or inverter data plate, a datasheet, an imported old certificate or a supplier bill). One photo can fill in a whole board's circuits, so it isn't charged per circuit or per certificate. Re-scanning a photo counts again. See the pricing page for details.

Can I sign up straight away?+

Yes. Start your 14-day free trial, with 50 AI reads and no card needed to start. The sign-up page shows the plans and prices.
